Summary

Moneywise Financial Advisors was a firm of Independent Financial Advisors based in Buckie, Banffshire. They offered financial advice to their clients and claimed to “specialise in providing independent advice, on all areas of financial planning.” Their services included pensions; protection for life, income and business; and savings and investments advice. The firm was regulated by the FCA under FRN 587253.

On 30th March 2016, Moneywise Financial Advisors entered into liquidation. This followed a series of restrictions being placed on the firm by the FCA, that included a ban on any further sale of non-standard investments within SIPP products and a ban on undertaking further investment business.

In January the following year, the firm was declared to be in default by the FSCS. This means that clients of Moneywise could then bring a claim to the FSCS if they were seeking compensation for financial mis-selling.
