Independent Portfolio Managers Ltd (IPM) was founded in 1996 as a financial advice firm. It offered a range of financial services to its clients. It was based in London and previously operated under the name “The Investors Partnership Research Limited” between 2000 and 2006. It was authorised by the FCA under FRN 184115.

IMP advised investment on a number of failed bonds over its lifetime. In November 2017, they were ordered to cease all regulated financial activity, and were ordered not to dispose of or deal with any assets of the firm without FCA consent.

As of 14th November 2018, the firm was entered into compulsory liquidation resultant from a winding-up petition that was submitted in October. In December 2018, the firm was declared to be in default by the FSCS.
